Great bartenders and even better food! Got the butter spice wings. They were so tasty and literally cooked to perfection! I asked for them well done and they were not too over cooked and dry like some wings get. Definitely will be back.

This review is strictly based on my happy hour experience. I would still go back to see if it's better for lunch or dinner.

After meeting my buddy at the Tuesday South Side farmers market, we wanted to check out a new happy hour place. I'm always on the hunt for that perfect after work spot for a quickie drink and snack.

On paper, I really loved the menu at Winghart's. It had a uniquely Pittsburgh flair with their fresh made pierogies and funnel cake offerings. And, with a reputation for good whiskey and burgers, how can you go wrong?!?

With bad customer service, I tell ya.

My buddy and I picked a table off the bar side so we could relax and catch up with each other. After waiting 8-12? minutes for someone to take our drink order (happy hour minutes are more precious and finite after all) we moved our set up to the bar, just as it seemed the bartender was heading over to see us. I guess there is no service person working the floor then. The one service person we thought was working the floor was actually a nice dude sitting at the bar who felt sorry for us and had come over to give us his food menu (?)

Even once we settled at the bar, it seemed to take an unusually long period of time to get our drink and food order. Having worked at restaurants during and after college as a service person and bartender at some pretty cool places, I have an idea of what makes things work for good customer experience, and I'm sorry, it takes more than a cute bartender with short shorts for this girl.

My buddy sat with an empty wine glass waiting to order a second, and the bartender delivered my water, but forgot to make my Jameson and ginger until I asked where it was, delivered one order of boneless wings but our 2nd food order never showed up! I had to toast my buddy with my glass of water :((

After having an "unhappy" hour, we gave up and asked for our check to leave. Sadly, we even had to wait to do that. Seriously, if the bar looked crazy busy with people, I would have understood much better, but it looked like a manageable crowd that a better bartender/service person could handle with one hand tied behind their back.

    But that menu though .....

Get it together Winghart's!  As I sat waiting for my orders scrolling thru many yelp reviews for food and drink recommendations, I found that my bad customer experience was not unique to me.

Ps, our boneless tikka masala wings were saucy, yet crispy and delicious.

I stopped in for a drink tonight before going to the trivia night at Mario's across the street, just like I have done probably half a dozen times. I order a shot of bourbon, $7. Like I've always done. As she serves me the drink, the bartender tells me there is a $10 minimum. I say, "Since when? I've been coming here for about a year." She says it's been a policy for a long time. Now, this very same bartender has served me most of the times I've been in. So apparently, it's a secret new longtime hidden policy that they enforce only randomly, maybe just on me tonight. So I left. Pretty sure I can find another bar on the South Side.

I went here again recently with my sister before a musical and we ordered the truffle aoli fries which were delicious as always and I ordered the boneless wings with jame-o sauce the sauce was really good I'd order them again and my sister ordered the ranch wings which were not very impressive they had sauce lightly drizzled on them I would of thought they would be tossed in a sauce or seasoned more they were just pretty dry and not what was expected.

    * Food: Definitely not the usual burger I've tried in Pittsburgh. This was my first time here and I ordered the Shipwreck Burger. The white truffle aioli with the brie cheese was delicious. I went in hungry and I didn't think it would be filling but I almost couldn't finish my meal. I enjoyed the cajun fries but it was just a tad bit on the salty side. I still would order it again.

    * Cost vs. Worth: Their burgers are around $10 - $12 which is an appropriate amount to get a good burger in Pittsburgh.

Will I come here again? - If I'm in the area and want a good burger, I will probably come here and try their other burgers. If not, I'd go to Burgatory or BRGR.
